Background
Focusing on online magazine readers, it is shown in research that they are eager to see interactive ads of videos that feature product information. They would like to have a more detailed look on the products that they were interested in while reading magazines or newspapers. This shows that the reason of people choosing to read online over printed materials is that the information provided when reading online has a much detailed version than on printed materials.
Brief
People argue about the impact of digital media on printed publications. Some said that digital media has lead to the extinction of publications, while others believe that digital media is a way to promote printed publications.
Instead of arguing about the existence of the two, I believe that a connection between the two should be created in order to have both digital media and publication being used at the same time, assisting each other.
The SCAN magazine is to prove that online and printed magazines could co-exist and digital media could become an essential tool to help people while reading printed publications.
Deliverables
A fashion magazine collaborating with Carhartt WIP, with QR codes on the left pages for readers to get access to a video of a 360-degree view of the product in just a tap on their smartphone screens.
